                                       Preparation for Candlemas

Isaiah{43:10-13}  . . .

"You are My witnesses, says the Lord, and My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know Me, believe Me
and remain steadfast to Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, neither shall
there be after Me."  . . .

"I, even I, am the Lord, and besides Me there is no Savior."  . . .

"I have declared the future, and have saved the nation in times of danger, and I have shown that I am God;
when there was no strange and alien god among you; therefore you are My witnesses, says the Lord, that I am
God."  . . .

"Yes, from the time of the first existence of day, and from this day forth, I am He; and there is no one who can
deliver out of My hand.  . . . I will work, and who can hinder or reverse it?"  . . .

A Wonderful Sunday to all, and may Peace be with you;

  Taken from Isaiah chapter forty three, he appears once again to be speaking as if God were "inside" Isaiah.
The Hebrew nation and the kingdom of the Israelites, were in need of a healthy dose of Faith.  . . . In the first
chapters Isaiah is in lamentations over the past "deeds" of Israel. The second and third section of chapters
address the current times Isaiah lived, though the future as well. They needed the encouragement of something
within;   . . . their Faith. For what are we with out?  To drive the point a little further let's look at another
scripture dealing with just that;  . . . Faith; of things not seen."  .

Hebrews{11:1}  . . . .

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, and the conviction . . . of things not seen."  . . .

  Everyone from time to time needs some encouragement, even the folks found in the letter to the Hebrews.
The Epistle of Hebrews was written specifically for the trials and tribulations the new "Christians" were having
with their Faith.  . . .  A Faith and thought ideals that were completely alien to them, as the "alien gods" of the
Gentile nations. It was a time for encouragement to face off the bitter oppression and persecution they had to
endure. These new believers needed to understand the finality of God's judgment, and the Permacy of Christ's
Salvation. They needed to know that Jesus Christ is Supreme over all things including death, and they needed to
know how to respond in the proper spirit of things.

  Frankly;  . . .  they needed the "art," or discipline of personal Prayer, just to live day to day;  . . . it wasn't an
easy world to live in. The letter to the Hebrews is just another great example of Faith in the Bible. It has
inspired many to follow Christ by drawing close to Him. Up close and Personal, unlike the "protective
measures" used around the Lord's Holy Temple, guarded by the Levities in the Old Testaments.  . . . Did you
know that when a high priest walked into the shrouded area of the Holy Temple he was bound to a rope, so as
to save his life. The objectivity was if the Lord's energy levels were to high it could kill a priest dead, hence the
rope to "pull him to safety" before the Lord Power had done away with the man.  . . . I love the small things,
and details that bring a story to life!  . . . And as we so often do; let's ponder the scriptures from Hebrews{11:1-
6}  . . .

"Now Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."  . . .

"For by it the men of old received divine approval."  . . .

"By Faith we understand that the world was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made out of
things which do not appear."  . . .

"By Faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he received approval as
righteous, God bearing witness by accepting his gifts; he died, but through his Faith he is still speaking."  . . .

"By Faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God had taken
him. Now before he was taken he was attested as having pleased God."  . . .

"And without Faith it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must
believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him."  . . .

  The last line "hits home" doesn't it?  . . . "And without Faith it is impossible to please Him."  Do you have
that kind of Faith?  . . . Do you think you'll ever need it?  . . .  Don't try and fool yourself again; because
everyone is humbled at one time or another in their lives, and you too will look for relief, for solace, and
sanctuary.  . . . Christ Jesus will provide all of those things and so much more.  . . .  If we look to the last line of
scripture it clearly states "God Is."  . . . Making it a primary fundamental of our lives; remember Genesis{1:1}
states that "In the beginning there was God."  . . . And how true, God was "first on the scene;" and a Worthy
God to Praise and serve in Faith.  . . .  Faith because of His Word, and Promises made to all who believe.

  We have spoken in regards to His plans, or "destiny" for everyone, planned long before the existence of the
world. We must never forget our Lord God is One of Knowledge, Power, and Great Purpose.  . . . That
Purpose flows over on to us, for He does have a grand Purpose in everyone's life. The Epistle calls upon the
ancient Hebrews to hold steadfast in their Faith, and their Divine Purpose set by God.   . . .  Abraham was a
Faithful servant unto the Lord right up to sacrificing his only son Isaac;  . . . though I believe that Abraham
believed that God would raise young Isaac from his "sleep," referring to verse {11:19} in Hebrews.  . . .

Hebrews{11:19}  . . .

"He considered that God was able to raise men even from the dead; hence, figuratively speaking, he did receive
him back."  . . .

  Though Abraham obeyed through this Faith in God, making him the father of decedents greater than the
stars, or the sands of the earth.  . . .  The Bible clearly states that no temptation is beyond our power if we are
Faithful.  . . .

1 Corinthians{10:13}  . . .

"No Temptation has over taken you but the ones that are common to man; though remember;  . . . God is
Faithful."  . . .

  Great faith has it's rewards, and we will talk about those a little later.  . . . Just remember Faith is the Key to
unlocking the darkest corners of your lives and inner selves. This is the last day of the Twelve Days of Christmas,
and I Hope you've enjoyed passing the time sharing the stories of our forefathers, their lives and trials; and how
we got here today! I also mentioned the a subject called "Candlemas;"  and promised a brief explanation of it's
meaning.   . . . So here we go;  . . .

  It is also called many other names such as the "Feast of the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple," celebrating
an early episode in the life of Jesus, and falls on or around Second of February. In the Eastern Churches, it is one
of the twelve "Great Feasts," and is sometimes called
Hypapante, meaning ''Meeting.''  Other traditional names
include "Candlemas, the Feast of the Purification of the Virgin, and the Meeting of the Lord." In the Church
of England, the Presentation of Christ in the Temple is a Principal Feast and is celebrated either on 2nd of
February, or on the Sunday between 28th of January, and February Third.   . . . The Purpose?  . . .  Simple!

  The Story behind the "pomp and circumstance." . . .

  The date of Candlemas is established by the date set for the Birth of Jesus, for it comes forty days after wards.
Under "Mosaic Law" as found and written in the Hebrew Torah, a mother who had given birth to a male, or
"man-child," was considered unclean for seven days; moreover she was to remain for thirty three days "in the
blood of her purification."  . . . Candlemas therefore corresponds to the day on which Mary, according to
Jewish law, should have attended a ceremony of ritual of purification.  . . .  For herself and the presentation of
her child to the Rabbis, and Priests.  . . .

Leviticus{12:2-6}  . . .

"The Lord said to Moses,"  . . .

"Say to the people of Israel, If a woman conceives, and bears a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days;
as at the time of her menstruation, she shall be unclean."  . . .

"And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised."  . . .

"Then she shall continue for thirty-three days in the blood of her purifying; she shall not touch any hallowed
thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying are completed."

"But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her menstruation; and she shall
continue in the blood of her purifying for sixty-six days."  . . .

  Remember as well into this new year to come, that Faith is always a key to your Salvation and the Peace of
Spirit and mind. It is Your shield and armor to protect you from this world of who we, the Children of God
don't really "belong."  . . . This is just a "lay over,"  . . .  we are just "visitors" until the next realm of existence.  .
. . God asks us to have Faith in all things to accomplish the impossible for His Glory, He is always with us;  . . .
no worries!   . . . Jesus Christ Is our encouragement!   . . .  He is our Role Model, and the secret to experiencing
His Power of Faith.  . . . Try it.  . . . Respond to Him in total Faith and submission and receive the inner
strength of Christ's encouragement and Grace.  . . .

Let us Pray;

  O' Lord in Heaven, Thou art my Heavenly Father, and I have forgotten You at times. My days have been
filled with my own pleasures and not of Yours, or what pleases You the most. Help us understand how our
negligence hurts You, an stir us to do the best we can for Your Glory. Help us all to think of You first, and
foremost. Help us talk to You more consistently without reproach. Teach us to Pray, and Listen for Your
Voice and Words of solace, and instruction. Dearest Father, never abandon us in Your continually guidance
towards our rightful position with You. We Devote our lives to You O' Lord, so give unto us Your Holy
Spirit for we at times fall short of Your expectations and prove our weakness alone. We ask for Your support,
guidance, patience, and most of all; Your Love for we who wish to become like You. We ask these things unto
the Living God, Christ Jesus' sake; and the Spirit of Faith and Salvation;  . . . Amen;  . . . Amen;

Luke{2:14} . . .

"He went there to be registered with Mary, who had been promised to him in marriage and was
pregnant."  . . .

"While they were there, the time came for her to have her baby, '  . . .

"And she gave birth to her first child, a son. She wrapped him in strips of cloth and laid him in
a manger, because there was not any room for them in the inn. '  . . .

"In that region there were shepherds living in the fields, watching their flock during the
night.''  . . .

"An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and
they were terrified.''  . . .

"Then the angel said to them, "Stop being afraid! Listen! I am bringing you good news of great
joy for all the people.''  . . .

"Today your Savior, Christ the Lord, was born in the city of David.''  . . .

"And this will be a sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a
manger."  . . .

"Suddenly a multitude of the Heavenly Army appeared with the angel, praising God and
saying,"  . . .

"Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth to people who enjoy his favor!"  . . .

Good morning and afternoon to everyone;

        Welcome, and may the Peace of the Lord be with you. Earlier I mentioned there are several ways that
other countries celebrate this season and I mentioned a celebration, or festival held in the northern European
Countries, Yuletide. A brief explanation of the word, and it's origins. "Yule;" or yole, or geol, are of common
Germanic. It was originally considered to be a "pagan" holiday.

        Yule or Yule-tide is a winter festival that was initially celebrated historically by the Germanic peoples and
tribes of the North. Seen as a pagan tribal or festival of Sects, it was later
absorbed into, and celebrated with,
the Christian festival of "Christ Mass," ending in a candle mass following the days of Advent, and the Twelve
days of Christmas. The festival was originally celebrated from late December to early January on a date
determined by the ancient Germanic calendars, based on the moon's cycles. The festival was placed on December
24th and Dec. 25th when the Christian or "Julian calendar" was adopted, soon after Emperor Constantine
assimilated Christianity as Rome's official Faith. Though many don't know that some historians claim that the
celebration is also connected to the Roman winter festival held at the solstice called "Saturnalia" and was
accompanied by much in the way of drinking, celebration, and the "wild hunt."

         The term "Yule" is still used in Europe, and to a lesser extent in English speaking countries to refer to
Christmas. Customs such as the "Yule log," and Yule singing, and others stem from Yule. In modern times, Yule
is observed as a cultural festival and is also mixed with religious, as well as other rites by the ancient forefathers
stemming from our direct heritage. It appears the entire world has had something to celebrate at this time of
year
instinctively. Christians and their pagan, "Neopagans" counter-parts enjoy a good story and a warm fire
with friends. I love reading the history of how Christ gently, forcefully at times; has "assimilated and absorbed"
everyone who is met with the Word of God. Remember giving a "reason to the season?" I couldn't have a
better example than Christ and Christmas.

        A lot of our heritage that we in the Americas have, stem from all four corners of the world. A country
that should Exemplify Christ and try and live in Peace and harmony. As  the Body of Christ, the Church;
absorbs and assimilates, or "makes as one;" so to have the United States providing the "Land of the Free" for so
many immigrants needing social reform, or Religious Freedoms. In being so "Christ like" we have opened many
doors of opportunity for confusion and tribulation. Reading the Bible tells the story more than once of how
the ancient Israelites lost favor with God by "assimilating" other lands Idols and religions. So let us not forget
the real meaning of this Season;  . . . The Birth of Christ. Let us never lose the "Christ" out of "Christmas" for
anyone's sales slogan or fear of "offending" anyone.  . . . Offend Who?  . . .  God?

2 Chronicles{29:20-3}  . . .

"Then Hezekiah the king rose early, and gathered the rulers of the city, and went up to the
house of the Lord."  . . .

"And they brought seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven male goats, for a
sin offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah. And he commanded the
priests the sons of Aaron to offer them on the altar of the Lord."  . . .

"So they killed the bullocks, and the priests received the blood, and sprinkled it on the altar;
likewise, when they had killed the rams, they sprinkled the blood upon the altar, they also
killed the lambs, and they sprinkled the blood upon the altar."  . . .

"And they brought forth the male goats for the sin offering before the king and the
congregation; and they laid their hands upon them;"  . . .

"And the priests killed them, and they made reconciliation with their blood upon the altar, to
make an atonement for all Israel; for the king commanded that the burnt offering and the sin
offering should be made for all Israel."  . . .

"And he set the Levites in the house of the Lord with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps,
according to the commandment of David, and of Gad the king's seer, and Nathan the prophet;
for so was the commandment of the Lord by his prophets."  . . .

"And the Levites stood with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets."  . . .

"And Hezekiah commanded to offer up the burnt offering upon the altar. And when the burnt
offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments
ordained by David king of Israel."  . . .

"And all the congregation worshipped, and the singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded; and all
this continued until the burnt offering was finished.  . . .

"And when they had made an end of offering, the king and all that were present with him
bowed themselves, and worshipped."  . . .

"More over; Hezekiah the king, and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the
Lord with the words of David, and of Asp the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and
they bowed their heads and worshipped."  . . .

        King Hezekiah can hardly be called a "pagan" because he was a direct descendent of king David and his
son king Solomon, and descendent from Solomon was a long line of kings that tried to walk in the path of the
Lord. Does Jesus want sacrificial blood rites? Of course not; Christ is the Sacrifice. Therefore the atonement of
our sins in our belief in Christ Jesus. The point is that if you "picture" the above scene, we as Christians sounds a
bit "pagan." Though these were Christ's forefathers. He brought forth a new life, and way of thinking. A
different way to show Praise for the Grace of the Lord God, "I, Am."  . . .  Just as Christ Jesus has been
assimilated into other cultures as the True Word, it could have never happened without the "voice crying out in
the wilderness"  . . . that's our commission. The Great Commission spreading the Word of Jesus Christ, the
Living God to everyone, everywhere.

        Just as the king ordered the musicians to play and sing, that too was assimilated into the Hebrew Faith by
Previous kings, the first and foremost on my mind is king Saul, requesting a very young David to play the harp
and sing to him. Later David brought forth many more musicians and newer instruments to play. I wonder if
anyone had an issue with the first time the heard the sound of a harp, rather than their native flute? From flutes
to harps, then organs, and pianos, and now guitars and computers produce music. Have we not assimilated all
these things as well? Isn't God Great in His love for diversity? Some kings couldn't even think, or prepare for
meditation or Prayer without music playing soothing rhymes and rhythms.

  In closing today, the direction taken was into not only our forefathers past and origin, though the ancient
forefathers of Christ Jesus. Before we break yet another rule which is to become judgmental of others in their
ways and practices, remember also that we, like Jesus; have our ancient ties of heritage as well with the world.
This is a time we should shine as the lamplight Christ suggests we do. For verily I tell you that you will be
judged as you yourselves have judged others. Judgment is in only One, and by One; "I, Am."  . . .

Let us Pray;

        Dear Father, we come to You in celebration and the songs of Psalms. We offer Praise for Your Divine
Light You cast forth, like a fisherman casting out his nets to pull in a bountiful harvest and catch. May we also
cast forth the light unto others so they too may follow in Your ways. We Thank You Lord for the chance to
see old friends again, and hold on to our Loved ones. We give Thanks for the time of rest, and the time to share
their many stories, and parables of the Bible. Your Book and Word. We Pray for all those in need, and for
those we know and love. We Pray for the senseless fighting to cease and desist, in Your Holy Name, Christ Jesus,
and the Spirit of Hope;

                                                                           Amen; Amen;  . . . Pastor Ronald Lynden

                                                    Hopes for Brighter New Years
                                                      And a Happy Christmas Tide

1 John{3:1-3}  . . .

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the
sons of God; therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not."  . . .

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we
know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."  . . .

"And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."  . . .

A Wonderful day to all;

       Welcome, and may Peace be with you and household. We have come to the last day of Advent, and begin
to prepare for the celebration of the twelve days of Christmas. This has been a forty day journey of the spirit.
It has been a discovery of the Love Christ has for all of His children. For as John stated, those of us being
Faithful to Jesus are "the sons of God."  . . .

1 John{3:1-3}  . . .

"See what an incredible quality of love the Father has given, and shown us, that we should be allowed to be
named, and called the children of God!  . . . And lucky we are!  . . .  The reason that the world does not know,
or acknowledge us, is that it didn't not know, or acknowledge Him."

"Beloved;  . . .  We are even here and now God's children;  . . . yet it has not been disclosed, nor made clear what
we shall be in the hereafter, but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall as God's children,
resemble, and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He really is."

"And everyone who has this Hope, rests on him cleaning and purifying himself; just as Jesus is pure, chaste,
undefiled, and guiltless."  . . .

       My deepest Hopes are that you in some way came closer to Christ Jesus, or felt His presence in your lives
in the many months we've been together. Today we close yet another page of our journey to rest and celebrate
the birth of our Savior, Jesus. We will talk about the twelve days of Christmas and show you a way to keep the
season on track;  . . .  and Holy. Because it all about Jesus; not you! I know that's hard to "swallow" though
nothing more true has ever been told to you in your life. The world never revolves around "anyone," we are the
children of God, therefore equal in all respects. If your still feeling alone after these past days on the road
together; you might think about more Prayer with an earnest heart. Because I don't mean to be "blunt," . . .  but
it may be you.  . . .  This IS a Time for the Rejoicing of all of our spirits for the Gift of Christmas;  . . .  Christ
Jesus, therefore you're never alone! He's right by you an there to comfort you.

       Christmastide also known as Christmas, or the Christmas season; is one of the seasons most Christian
Churches celebrate, or honor. Even the Catholic Faith and the Pontiff acknowledges this celebration. It seems
the dates vary, and tends to be defined with slight variations as to the period, or date. These dates range from
starting the celebration on Christmas day, to something of a adjustable calendar, starting at the end of the
fourth Sunday before Christmas day, ending on the second or third of January. The point is not the "date,"
though the meaning. This period is also commonly known as the Twelve Days of Christmas, just like the
Christmas Carol. In many lands it is known as the time of "Yuletide."

       In the England, however, Christmastide includes "Epiphany" and ends at "Candlemas" in early February.
This is a time honored tradition which celebrates the Presentation of the Lord Jesus Christ at the Temple, so
many years ago in Jerusalem. It also Welcomes Christ Jesus into His Churches, to enjoy their company. In the
Roman Catholic Church, the Christmas season runs a shorter period, from Christmas Eve; to the Sunday after
Epiphany, then they commemorate the Baptism of the Lord. During the season various festivities are
traditionally enjoyed and buildings are brightly decorated. My own Grandmother thought it "bad luck"
through superstition, to leave the decorations up after Twelfth Night,  . . . or just to be safe, "got rid of my
dream filled tree into the garbage on New years!" . . .  It was always a sad day as a child, watching dad carry the
tree out to the trash.

       It was found that until just of recent times, Christian countries around the world, celebrated the Christmas
season until February Second. The celebrations names also have much variation being called Candlemas, the
Feast of the Purification of the Virgin, or the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, and for us, and you as
well;  . . . the Twelve days of Christmas.  . . .  Let us never forget the keeping with the traditional significance of
the Forty Days, we have just spent together.

       Never the less, let's talk about the Christmas Tree.   . . .  What does it mean?  . . . What did it mean too
you? Well in doing a little "footwork" I'll give you the facts on this wonderful decoration unto God, though
something we enjoy as well.  . . .  I fear the "Pharisees" are at work, and coming  among us again. This "pagan"
expression of celebration stems from the sixteenth century.  . . .  (well into the period of Christianity)  . . .  A
Christmas tree is one of the most popular and beloved traditions within our celebration of Christmas. In the
northern Germanic regions the Evergreen tree is what was neatly decorated with pride. The evergreen, or
"Christmas pine, or fir tree" was perpetually green! The forefathers looked upon it as a metaphor in everlasting
life.

       Using candles in the past, to laser and other ingénues method today with multiple types of Christmas
lights, and a colorful arrangement of decor; they present their creations to celebrate the season. An Angel or Star
is often placed at the top of the tree, representing the host of angels, Gabriel; or the star, which represents the
Star of Bethlehem. What could be wrong with any of this symbolic metaphors to honor Jesus, any more than
the use of incense in the Temple. It is all in the honor of the Father, Christ Jesus, and to remember the Nativity,
the birth of Christ. Remember this as well,  . . . Stories and news were carried mouth to mouth, most folks
couldn't read, so it would have been just as important they have a way to learn and remember something as
special as the night the Lord God came to earth.

       And in this manner of thought we also free ourselves from judgment of others in our minds. It is for every
individual to make their relationship with Christ, It is by them, and them alone that places Christ above;  . . . or
beneath their pursuits in life. It should be also seen as an individual pursuit of honoring Christ in ones own way.
After all no one relationship is exactly the same, anymore than your relationships with others, or your own
finger prints. God knows everything about you, and I pray this season you learn more about Him.

       Despite being associated with a Christian festival, many have made the outrageous claim that the tradition's
origins are "pre-Christian," originating in "ancient Germanic history." Germanic tribes lighted trees or
"Tannenbaum" and celebrated the "Festival of light" around the shortest day of the year, December 21. The
Christmas tree is dated to 16th century Germany, and it was made ever so popular across the Western world in
the 18th and 19th centuries; right through to the world today. Therefore without any conclusive evidence that
there was any such activity until the 1500's it has been made clear by historians that this "pagan" celebration,
truly has it's stems and roots, direct from God. We will end today as I know everyone is "scurrying around" for
last minute details. More on this Precious Holiday and the twelve days of Christmas on Monday.

Let us Pray;

       Christ Jesus we fall to the side of your manger in Praise and Palms'! We give Thanks for this wonderful
time of year. We give Praise for Your generosity. We give Thanks for that same gift You hold so dear;   . . .
Love. We Pray for a time of Peace. We Pray for a time of Solace. We Pray for all we know and Love, and
those who would do harm. We Pray for hunger to end, so Your children may eat, and live. This Ministry's
heart and soul goes out to all throughout this season, and the many to come. We give up humble gratitude in
heart for Your Gifts of Love, Hope, Joy, and Peace. We also Sing out in Praise for the Fruits of the Spirit, and
Your Gift of Living Waters. We ask these these in the Name Of God, Christ Jesus; and the Holy Spirit;
                                                                                    Amen; Amen;

                                                  Truth in Peace

John{14:6}  . . .

"I Am the way, the truth, and the life; no man comes unto the Father, but by Me." . . .

A Good morning, or afternoon to all;

       Welcome and may the Peace of the Lord be with you. As last Sunday, it is yet another Glorious day, and
yet another day to celebrate life, and the One who gave it to you. From Monday, through Fridays discussions
we found some dramatic, and some fantastic stories, parables, and warnings within the scriptures. We are on the
right path to discovering how to have a relationship with Jesus, the Living God. By reading the Bible you feel
it's heartbeat, it has a warmth, accompanied by such a feeling of Peace when you read it. It is the Fathers heart
you feel pulsing, through each and every page. You really don't "need" me or anyone else to interpret for you,  .
. .  just let God speak to you.

       We left off Friday with Christ Jesus, and what He holds in His mighty hands; Judgment, or the Gift of
His Merciful Grace. His expectations of all of us;

Matthew{16:24-28}  . . .

"Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross, and follow me."  . . .

"For who so ever will save his life shall lose it; and who so ever will lose his life for my sake
shall find it."  . . .

"For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what
shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"  . . .

"For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall
reward every man according to his works."  . . .

"Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they
see the Son of man coming in his kingdom."  . . .

Now let's use some amplification with these verses in order to expose further truths, therefore providing a
clearer understanding.

"Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself, disregard,
lose sight of, and forget himself; and his own interests, and
take up his cross and follow Me. Stick to Me,
conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also."  . . .

"For who ever is bent on saving his "temporal" life, and his comfort and security here, shall lose
Eternal Life;
and who ever loses his life, and his comfort and security here for My sake; shall find
Life Everlasting."  . . .

"For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and gives up his blessed life in the kingdom of God?
Or what would a man give as an exchange for his blessed life in the kingdom of God?"  . . .

"
For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory, majesty, and the splendor of His Father with His angels,
and then He
will "render accounts" and reward every man in accordance with what he has done."  . . .

"Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming
into His kingdom."  . . .

       Never hurts to take another look at things does it? Yes you're quite correct, that is almost a carbon copy
of Fridays text, though coming up again later in the Book. Those words appear in the other Gospels as well.   . .
.  Do you think it may have been an important topic not to miss?
Or a topic they surely didn't want us to miss,
or in some sad way, might we have strayed?  . . .  Though with Christ as our Lord and Master, we have
Salvation. There is another term used in the scriptures which is to be a "bond servant" or "slave" to Jesus.  . . .
Would that be so bad?   . . .  Actually, He's wonderful to work for!

   At this time we prepare ourselves for this Holiday and the Celebration of Life!  . . . Yet to have as Perfect
Peace as we can obtain for ourselves, let us use in metaphor, that of the "half full, half empty" theory of a glass
of water.  . . . One could say you have to
empty yourself, to be filled with the Joy of Christ. So let us think
along the terms of empty glass, full glass;  . . .  but without Christ's Grace there can be no salvation, and we will
always be half full, or our cup as dry as a bone.  . . .  The great news is, that something as small as a mustard seed
can fill our cup to the point of over flowing;

Matthew{17:20}  . . .

And Jesus said unto them,   . . . "Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, If you have faith as a grain
of mustard seed, you shall say unto this mountain, move from here to there; and it shall move; and nothing shall
be impossible unto you."  . . .

       Did you hear Him speak? It doesn't take a lot of faith, just a bit; such a tiny request made upon us all. To
have as much Faith as a mustard seed, doesn't seem like a lot, though there are quite a few people who don't
have even that in their hearts. The disciples did, and their fathers forefathers before them. Our own
grandfathers and grandfathers before them had that faith, or many of us wouldn't be here today to even discuss
it. There are a lot of people who think that although the Bible contains many warnings about the possibility of
the wicked being cast into hell, that nobody will in fact finally be sent there; that the mercy of God is such that
he would not consign any person to hell, and the power of his love is such that all men must eventually respond
to it, even if that response comes only after some kind of suffering.

       Just a couple of words on this viewpoint. First, there is no suggestion in the New Testament of any kind of
"purgatorial suffering" which point, at sometime after such completion; a person may enter Heaven. Such an
idea, or suggestion would simply imply that
salvation depends upon human acceptability to God rather than
upon the finished work of Christ's Grace.
A person's fate in the next life depends upon his response to Christ in
this life as referred to in the Book of Luke.

Luke{12:16-23} . . .

"Then He told them a parable, saying, The land of a rich man was fertile and yielded plentifully."  . . .

"And he considered and debated within himself,  . . . What shall I do?  . . .  I have no place where I can store
and gather together my harvest."  . . .

"And then he said, I will do this!  . . .  I will pull down my storehouses and build larger ones, and there I will be
able to store all my grain, produce and my goods!"  . . .

"And I will say to my self, "Self" you have many good things laid up here, enough for many years. So I can take
it easy; eat, drink, and be merry!"  . . .

"But God said to him, You fool! This very night they, the messengers of God; will demand your soul tonight;
and all the things that you have prepared, whose will they be now?"  . . .

"So it is with the one who continues to "lay up" and hoard possessions for himself and is not rich in his relation
to God, for see? This is how he fares now."  . . .

"And Jesus said to His disciples, Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious and troubled with cares about your life,
as to what you will have to eat; or about your body, or as to what you will wear."

"For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes."  . . .

       Additionally, we must than distinguish between the universal and ultimate offer of God's Mercy, and
universal acceptance of that offer. The universal lineage of Divine Grace is clearly taught in the New Testament
within the Book of John.

John {3:16}  . . .

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that who so ever believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  . . .

      Though this universal acceptance of grace is not always taught. Jesus clearly stated that not all will be able
to enter the kingdom of God. No one person, can
presume on the mercy of God to save them in spite of a life
of sin and impenitence, and the Church shouldn't hide from its evangelistic duties by claiming that God will
save everybody in the end anyway. Though this doctrine inevitably weakens the morals and spirits of men, and
tears the heart from the evangelistic fever, for the Church. It has no support in Scripture; and a
false soft heart,
should not blind us to what is being "preached" there.

       Once again I'll use Paul as an example. It was not the "good works, nor deeds" he lived for. He placed
himself within the arms of the Lord for everything. Trusting God along every mile he walked in behalf of
Christ Jesus. It was not his "good works" per say that we want to look at superficially. We want to look into
the character of the person. Remember that mustard seed? Remember Paul's candid testimonies? It was not his
"physical works" that made him what he was, rather his inner strength and character. His inner desire to not
only know Jesus, but serve Him. To clear the "fog" just a bit more, look at it this way;  . . . All the tithing, and
Sundays at Church; or the frequent times you've handed out money to the poor will "not get you into
Heaven."  . . . If that sounds a bit harsh; relax and fear not. Christ made it even easier in many ways for us
because of the Grace He will use to Judge the world.

       The good works everyone is talking about in the scriptures is the inner workings of your soul. The
discipline needed to live in a way befitting the King of Kings, Christ Jesus. Remember the metaphor Paul used
by comparing the "spiritual work out" with that of an athlete in fervent training for a race? We need to hold
on to this with all of our hearts and souls. So let your good works be like that of Christ. Follow His example,
for it is by He you will be judged, or salvation awarded. It is the good works, or desires coming from inside our
hearts that count, not what Christ parables in describing busy Pharisees, busy doing nothing but flaunting their
position within the Church, and the piety of their attitudes and lifestyle they had succumbed  to.

      We will continue tomorrow starting this last week of Advent with the thoughts of Hope, and what we
have learned in the past forty days together. Again I wish everyone a wonderful day.

Let us Pray;

       Dearest Father in Heaven we hallow Your name. We Praise Thee O' Lord with thanksgiving in our hearts.
We Sing to You Christ  for Your Love for us, and Your merciful Grace. The power to Create, and the power
to destroy. We serve none but You Christ Jesus, and Pray for the strength to hold steadfast, shoulder to
shoulder with You O' Lord. Jesus You are my Lord God, Master, and Shepherd. You are the Lights in the
night sky, You are the four winds that blow. You are that of the universe, and forever and Eternal. We Praise
Our Lord God for Your Wisdom and our lives themselves. We Pray for everyone, everywhere; friend or foe.
We ask Your Blessings Lord as we congregate in Your presence. We ask of You these things in Your Almighty
Name, Christ Jesus; and the Spirit of God;  . . .  Amen; Amen;   . . . .  Pastor Ronald Lynden

Sundays Mass                                   12/07/08
                                    "Advent"
                                       Eternal Love

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word with God; . . the word was God" . . . . "I AM
HE." . . . "It was in the beginning with God all things were made through Him and without
Him, was made nothing that has been made. In Him was Life, and the Life became the Light of
Men; Jesus Christ. And that Light shines on in the darkness . . ."

Matthew {16:27}

"For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then shall He
render unto every man according to his deeds."

Good day and welcome;

       It is another beautiful Sunday and a great day to thank Christ for all of the blessings he pours down upon
us each and every day at this time of Advent.  Some of us accept Him without question. Some "accept," Him,
though have questions and doubts. Some say they believe and simply "play" the status quo to be in with the
Jones'. "Don't rock the boat,'' be a "Christian." Today it is very different. Maybe it is a good time to explain
just who Jesus is, and what He means to you and the world. It is the Greatest Story ever told.

       We have talked about Him all week, and will continue next week; for He was a very different kind of
"man,"  from birth. His Beliefs we’re not that "Status Quo" of the Pharisees, what less the Hebrews or Jews. It
was these thoughts and His teaching of Love, and Forgiveness of sins that ultimately led to His death. "No
greater thing can a man do, but lay down his life for another." Those were Christ's own words, not some quote
from a self help book, or the newest “Zen,” or Buddhist Book of Dreams.  He was a gentle and Loving Prince
of Peace. He was God embodied in sinful flesh, to witness our lives and life style. He was the fulfillment of three
separate prophecies within the Old Testaments, the last fulfilled coming from the lineage of the House of King
David.

       Jesus Christ is often compared to other prophets and teachers, such as Buddha; but the writings for Buddha
don't show up until some 200 years after Christ. That's over 600 years after Buddha. The earliest scriptures date
back to a small piece of parchment called the "Creed."  . . .  The basis for Christianity; and carbon dates, with
historical concurrence to approximately between 35 an 50 A.D.  . . .  Who's Copied who?  . . . The answer is
obvious, Jesus was the First, and the Last. He is the Alpha and Omega. He is the most unique person to ever live.
Everything from His birth to after His death was miraculous and set Him apart from everyone else. Jesus was
born by a virgin; a natural impossibility. Before His mother Mary was married to Joseph, she was told by an
angel she would give birth to the Son of God. When she asked him how this could be, he answered, "The
Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will over power you; also that Holy One who is
going to be born will be called the Son of God." Just as promised, Mary gave birth to Jesus Christ, the most
incredible person to ever have lived. And they named Him Jesus;   . . .   “or God is with us,” In Hebrew.

       Christ led an amazing life from beginning to end. We know of His birth, though not in detail. We know
of the story of the "Prodigal Son," when Jesus surprises all at the Temple with His amazing logic, sense, and
further questions to the high Priests; which few if any could be answered. We know that He was a son of a
carpenter, and most likely put a hand to that trade for some time in His life. We also know that in scriptures,
hidden but visible, are the texts "leading" to the presumption He went into the wilderness many times before
His forty days and nights of finding true spirit and rejecting Satan.

       Jesus' life was just as amazing further into the scriptures. At 30 years old, He went out into the cities of
Israel and began teaching and healing people. The Bible records that He was different from other preachers, for
"the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the
scribes." Christ met everyone on their own level. It was if He "already knew them," of those that He spoke to.
He loved the little children, and in fact; said "No one who isn't a child, or sees the world through the eyes of a
child will enter Heaven." Profound thinking.  This promise is for you! There are many religions and prophets,
but no one but Jesus Christ offers complete forgiveness from your sins and eternal life with God. He has already
died for your sins; now you must put your faith in Him, as He visits in this sacred season.
"For if you confess
with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be
saved."
Jesus asked of all of us to Repent, turn from our lives of sin and believe and love the Father, our Father;
God the Creator.

Let us Pray;

       "Jesus, I Love and believe in You. You are the Son of God, and the Savior of the world. Thank you for
Your Many Gifts You’ve Given us. We Pray for Your coming to Earth and your divine teachings. Please forgive
us all for our sins against You and the Father. We wish to follow You with a new life, heart and spirit now, and
forever. Please fill us with Your Holy Spirit and direct our steps, down the wide highway leading to those
narrow paths to Heaven. Give us the strength of the Holy Spirit to witness these and other words You spoke to
all we meet in life. To proudly exhort our Love for You as You did for us. In Jesus' name, the Father, and the
Spirit of Creation;. . . Amen; . . . Amen; . . .
