The soul is subject to death:
Ezek. 18:4 "The soul that sins shall
surely die."
Immortality is a gift from God -
not something we possess:
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is
death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
John 3:15-16 "For God so loved the
world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him should not
perish but have eternal life."
