Firstly, the "True
Church" is the church where God's Word - The Holy Bible (not some member
of church hierarchy) is the only authoritative source of that organization's
teachings; for as Jesus said -
"in
vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men." [Mt
15:9]
Secondly,
"True Christians" are people who not only believe in Christ, but also repent
and do as He has told us - "KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS" - meaning live life
in accordance to them.
"By
this we may be sure we are in him, if we keep his commandments." 1Jn 2:3
"Repent
and believe the Gospel" Mk 1:15
"And
why call ye me, 'Lord, Lord', and do not the things which I say?" Lk 6:46
"Not
every one who says to me, 'Lord Lord', shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven,
but he who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven. On that day
many will say to me, 'Lord Lord' did we not prophesy in your name, and
cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name? And
then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from me you evildoers!"
Mt 7:21-23
As
the above scriptures (direct quotes from Jesus himself) make clear, you
can believe in the Savior and still be spiritually mislead by taking part
in religious observances and practices that have nothing whatsoever to
do with, and in fact are most often directly opposed to God. |
